Lovey Dovey - X O Charm Pack or Layer Cake Pattern

                     Lovey Dovey by Riley Blake

It's a start of the new year! It's January and if you haven't started on your Valentines Day quilt then here is something you can whip up just in time! I'll be honest I have never thought of making a Valentines Quilt but I feel in love with Riley Blake's Lovey Dovey Collection.

 Fabric:
    - One Layer Cake or Four Charm Packs (Using Lovey Dovey by Riley Blake. 42 assorted prints)
    - Two Kona Snow Charm Packs
    -  1/2 yard Binding (WOF 40in min)
    -  4 1/4 Yards of Backing (WOF 40in min)

 Piecing:

1. If you are using a layer cake, you are going to cut in fours, halfway down the middle on both sides. You will then have 126 - 5"x5" squares. (You may want to keep your piles separated is you are using patterns that you'd like to keep going the same way.)

2. With your Charm Packs you are going to cut in fours as well. Halfway down the middle on both sides. You will now have 126 - 2 1/5" squares.

3. With all 5" squares you are going to snow ball only two corners using your 2 1/5" squares.

4. Using 84 squares from step 3 you will form this block using 4 squares.

 5. With the other 84 squares from step 3 you will now form this block using 4 squares.

 6. Last you will then lay your blocks out in the pattern of X, O, X, O repeating. Sew your columns and rows together and you are done with your quilt top! =)
