Nebula - Free Quilt Pattern - Jelly Roll

Honor has been one of the most popular quilt patterns. Here is a slightly different version of Honor but with a larger star that appears with a simple rotation of the block. Finished Size is 75" x 75"

  3. I'm getting ready to make this quilt. I had a question. Is the diagonal sewing diagram correct? It seems like the star fabric excess should be coming off the top and the sewing line should be the opposite of what's pictured. Just asking so I don't end up ripping out 500 stitches. Haha And I have a new baby. So I'm sorry on sleep and probably reading the directions wrong.

  4. I printed out the "Honor" pattern shown in the reds, blues, and golds. It said to go to your blogspot to see which fabric line you used. I have looked and can't find anything. Can you tell me what fabrics you used, please?

    1. Honor was made with Moda's Polka Dots and Paisleys. Background is Robert Kaufmans Kona Cotton in Indigo.

    2. Thank you. I have a jelly roll, just not the background. I will have to look for the Indigo, I thought about using the mottled blue in the Polka Dots & Paisley group. Thanks again. I just discovered your blogspot and I am enjoying it very much. To much I want to make and not enough hours.

  5. Thank you for sharing great patterns with us! This one is stunning and I hope to start cutting this week.
I do have two questions about the sizes as written. In the piecing Step 2 where you put the block together, it says two 8" pieces go in the center. I assume you mean the 8 1/2" pieces. Also, the finished size says it is 75 x 75. If these are 8" finished blocks and the layout is 7 x 7 blocks, then I calculate that the size will be 56 x 56.
Please clarify these two points for me and again, thanks for the lovely pattern.

    1. I agree. Also the pieced strip to form the star appears to be pictures backwards???? and makes a 9 1/2 inch strip instead of 8 1/2. Can someone clarify the instructions.

  6. I have tried and I believe your diagonal picture is wrong. The slant will come out left instead
of slanting right. Also there is the shortest block placed. Directions need to be made more clear. Am trying it anyway, the design is eye catching.

  7. I tired the pattern as written and found the measurements were off. The star intersections did not meet.. I changed the 6 " rectangles to 6 1/2" and the star fabric to 4 1/2" instead of 5" and the intersections met cleanly.

  8. I made this quilt as the directions are written. It turned out to be 57 X 57 and pinwheels rather than stars. Also, they spin in the other direction. I can send a picture if you like. I like the quilt, it just isn't like I expected it to be based on the picture.
